To the fans of rock musicians, actors and authors everywhere: you may be wondering how they did it.  You may be rubbing yourself raw with self-doubt and hatred.  It’s important not to use these people as benchmarks.  Compare yourself only to who you were yesterday.  And take the necessary steps to perfect your art, push a tiny bit more in the direction you want to go.  Leave role models on the posters of high school bedrooms and honor yourself.  We’re not that different you know; the superstars and the underdogs.  The only difference is; underdogs like us have nothing to lose.
